lunchx2

I had another fail in my attempt to eat lighter meals so that I prevent resembling a whale come July. I packed (by packing I mean, I shoved into a lunch bag) a ready-made-salad from good ol’ TJ’s. I shoveled it into my mouth come lunch time. But I found myself completely not satisfied. It wasn’t the salad’s fault. That thing is yummm. It was the fault of my taste buds and tummy that wants more than a mere salad for a meal. So, I strategically mapped my work-errands this afternoon to make it nice and easy for my belly to get a second lunch. Except, the mapping involved a few yards of detour. Oh well.

All that to say, I need a new plan for operation no-resemble-whale-come-wedding-day.

making progress

We are slowly making progress already.

Here is what we did today.

I have been fighting a minor form of a migraine, so I gave myself a very lazy morning.
THEN, my roomie and I headed over to SK’s to pick up the loot I got showered with last week.
And THEN, we picked up lunch at Giuliano’s for our guys. (Did I mention my roomie is getting married merely weeks after yours truly?)

I sorted through some of the loot and finally got to read the cards that accompanied the loot. (I know awesome women.) After that we got to cross of an item on my “to-do” list. We bought mason jars for our centerpieces. There was a bit of a confusion about quart, pint, half a pint, but we got it squared away and are the proud owners of 2-dozen mason jars.

We unloaded some of the loot at the new place and I got to hear Sweet T beautifully pound the ivory on our new piano. It’s a sweet little guy (the piano) and it’s nice watching T play. He gets this look of fierce concentration when he’s playing a dramatic piece.

Now, I’m taking a break to pay a little visit here before working on some more wedding stuff.

Currently, this apartment is wedding concentration central. My roomie and her intended are focused-ly working on their wedding invite stuff and my intended and I are trying to cross off more things on our wedding to-do list.

It’s a beautiful day here in sunny So Cal. I sort of would rather be outside, going for a hike or something. But it’s just as well. As I shared before, I am still fighting that migraine-esque visitor to the noggin region.

Sweet T is officially on summer break starting this week. It has been a very packed semester of translations, paper-ing, reading, paper-ing some more and translating a lot. We took it easy this week and had a relaxing dinner (which he made!) and watched a movie that’s been on our list for a while.

We even snuck in an outdoor activity and some mid-week babysitting.

Now onto some relaxing wedding planning!

it’s almost not may

I’m not sure where the time is going. I mean, it’s almost not May! That means we most definitely have less than two months to plan the rest of our wedding. WOH. I think I sort of took a break from planning once the major things were booked. But now… oh my. I really don’t want to be working on stuff the week of the wedding. The goal is to finish all of the major things before Sweet T leaves to speak at MH at the end of June. So one month. That should be enough time to do the rest yeah?

We moved in our first piece of homeware to our new pad today. Our little piano was delivered. When things happen fast like that (remember the car purchase), I spend a few good hours doubting if enough thought, prayer, and research went into it. But as I recall the mind-photo I took of our little piano, sitting all alone in our living room, I know it was a good decision. Sweet T does know his piano and he made a very wise choice. He even got the cost talked down a bit ’cause he was literally walking out, deciding it wasn’t in our budget. Thanks to the generosity of my parents, Sweet T can teach piano out of our home. AND, I get free lessons.

Back to wedding matters… we are doing some major planning things out and finalizing things out tomorrow.

It sure has been a whirlwind. And it’s looking to be a whirlwind until the end of July, but definitely praising God from whom all of these blessings flow.
